ION Strikes Carriage Deals

ION, the West Palm Beach broadcast network reinventing itself out of the ashes of Pax, has scored a slew of carriage deals in the last week or so.

Buckeye Cable System in Ohio picked up the network and its 24-hour digital nets, qubo and ION Life. Buckeye has around 150,000 subscribers in and around Toledo and Sandusky. Midcontinent Communications, a cable op with systems in the Dakotas and Minnesota also picked up ION.

ION also scored a carriage deal with the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative. The group represents variously sized telcoTV operations representing 10 million homes. ION also closed a deal to be on SES Americom’s IP Prime, a turnkey programming service designed for telcos that don’t want to build full head-ends.
