Hour of Power Marks 2,000th Broadcast

by TVB Staff | May 30, 2008
June 1 will mark the 2,000th consecutive episode of the Hour of Power, the weekly church service led by the Rev. Dr. Robert Schuller from the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif.

Hour of Power claims to be the fourth longest-running weekly TV program in history. It is the most-watched Christian broadcast, with 20 million people tuning in each week to telecasts on Lifetime, the Trinity Broadcasting Network and more than 100 local broadcast affiliates. Hour of Power is also carried on the Armed Forces Network as well as cable and satellite systems in 50 countries on every continent. It was also the first Christian broadcast to be licensed for airing in the post-Perestroika Soviet Union.

Episode No. 2,000 will feature the world-premiere performance of "Gloria,” composed for the event by Hollywood film scorer Mark McKenzie.
