NBC Universal Puts Two Stations Up for Sale

by TVB Staff
NBC Universal intends to sell two of its 10 TV stations, according to several published reports. WTVJ-TV in Miami and WVIT-TV in Hartford, Conn. are said to be on the auction block.

The sale was disclosed in the press when station employees were informed in a memo from John Wallace, president of NBC Local Media. WFOR-TV, the CBS affiliate in South Florida, reported that a buyer had not yet been lined up for the stations.

NBC will retain its South Florida Telemundo affiliate, WSCV-TV. Both WSCV-TV and WTVJ-TV recently became the first stations in the market to do local hi-def newscasts.
