TV Magic Scores Lincoln Center New York Theater Renovation

by TVB Staff | May 16, 2008
The New York State Theater, located in New York’s famed Lincoln Center, is getting a state-of-the-art A/V renovation with multiplatform distribution in mind. The theater is the home of the New York City Ballet and the New York City Opera. It is part of the triad of halls that comprise the Center, including Avery Fisher Hall and the Metropolitan Opera House.

Ken Tabachnick, general manager of the New York City Ballet, said the facility will be built to “permit the complete capture, storage, manipulation, asset management, repurposing, and distribution of the companies’ digital assets.”

TV Magic, a systems integrator with offices in New York, will provide the design and lead the renovation. The resulting facility will have multiple cameras, robotics, 5.1 capture and digital archiving integrated with the ballet and opera workflow and titling systems. Plans call for the renovation to begin this month and continue through 2009.
